From June to early October is Winter in Victoria and time for fun in the snow. Falls Creek ski resort is only a short 35 minute drive from Mt. Beauty where both Down Hill and Cross Country skiing is available. The resort is ideal for beginners or experienced skiers with a helicopter link between Falls Creek and Mt. Hotham.
Dreamers at Mt. Beauty is an ideal base for skiers and non-skiers to enjoy both Alpine and Sub-Alpine activities. These photos were taken in Mt. Beauty (May 2000) showing a wonderful covering of fresh snow. This does not happen often but does surprise us every now and then.
The surrounding mountains are commonly covered with snow which gives Dreamers a panoramic, magical view without the difficulties of staying above the snow line. Dreamers can arrange lift tickets and ski hire for you to save time and get you on the slopes sooner.
Snow chains for all vehicles are required by law to be carried on the Falls Creek road only. This means you don't need chains until you reach Mount Beauty prior to driving up to Falls Creek and even then you are only required to fit them on very snowy or icy road conditions when specified. Chains can be hired from a number of outlets in Mt Beauty
Falls Creek Coach Services offer daily coaches to and from Falls Creek. This is a great alternative to driving when the weather conditions are not good on the mountain. It saves the hassle of fitting snow chains to your own vehicle in miserable weather. Information and bookings can be made at

The peak of the winter ski season is from the last weekend in June until the middle weekend in September. Just either side of this, Dreamers can offer you a good deal on some fantastic accommodation to enjoy the first or the last snowfalls of what the winter season has to offer.
